Booking and cancellation
Appointments can be booked online or by calling 07582 128662. We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellation or change. Late cancellations (under 24 hours) and missed appointments may be charged at the full session rate to compensate for the reserved clinical time. Please allow up to 1 hour for an initial consultation and 30 minutes for a follow-up appointment.
Clinical scope
Osteopathic treatment is delivered by Yousif Barr, registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) — UK law reserves the title "osteopath" to GOsC registrants. All treatment follows a thorough musculoskeletal assessment. We reserve the right to decline any treatment where it is not clinically indicated, not in your best interest, or unsafe given your medical history. Where a presentation requires care outside the scope of osteopathy, we will refer you to your GP, an A&E department, a relevant specialist, or one of the in-house medical and wellbeing professionals at UNTIL.
Fees and payment
An initial osteopathy consultation and treatment is £125, payable at the time of your appointment. Follow-up appointments are charged at the rate confirmed when you book. We are a self-funding practice; we do not bill insurers directly, but on request we can issue a paid invoice that you may be able to submit to your own private medical insurer for reimbursement — any claim and its outcome is a matter between you and your insurer.
Consent
Verbal informed consent is obtained for every assessment and treatment. Consent covers the specific techniques to be used, expected outcomes, possible adverse responses, and any agreed home-exercise programme. You may withdraw consent and end any treatment at any time, without explanation.
Records and follow-up
You are entitled to a clear explanation of your assessment, working diagnosis, and treatment plan after every visit. Subsequent appointments include reassessment against your initial findings. Discharge happens by mutual agreement once you have the tools to manage independently — there is no expectation that you complete a fixed number of sessions.
Liability
Yousif Barr carries full professional indemnity insurance as required for GOsC registration. Adverse responses to osteopathic treatment, while uncommon, can occur — we discuss any material risks with you before using a technique we believe carries such risk in your specific case.
